My mom and I had to drive my father the airport one morning some time ago. It was about 3:00 in the morning and I was completely sleep deprived and slap-happy. My brain was wandering to strange places, and it suddenly hit me that if Christine had ever for some reason chosen Erik… how strange a meeting between Erik and Mama Valerius would be. I mean. Mama. Meeting Erik.I just. I can’t.Well, first of all, it would be a bit hard to explain. Where is Raoul and who is this strange masked man? She couldn’t very well be told the truth since she nearly had a stroke the last time Raoul nearly blurted out that the “angel” was actually a psycho killer… But really, Chrissy could probably just make up some bs like “Well, Mama, the Angel fell in love so he became human and blah blah blah” And she would totally buy it. The lady is more naïve than a 5 year old. Then, to Erik’s horror, Mama would pinch his cheeks and coo over how adorable they are and Erik would wonder what in God’s name has he has gotten himself into.I just love Mama Valerius. She’s adorable. I wish she was in more versions. Or, actually, ANY version besides just Leroux. And it’s ridiculously cute how attached Christine is to Mama. I mean, when she ran off with Raoul in the end she even made sure to bring Mama with her. Not many people elope and bring their mamas with them.Yes.
